    Our Story

A journey from grandmother's kitchen to your table

    The Beginning

Kalinka was born from a simple yet profound longing—the taste of home. In 1998, our founders arrived in London carrying little more than cherished family recipe books and a dream to share the authentic flavours of Eastern Europe with the local community.

What started as a small shop on Queensway quickly became the heart of the Eastern European community in West London. Customers weren't just buying food—they were reconnecting with memories, traditions, and a piece of their heritage.

    The Soul of Kalinka

Every product on our shelves has a story. We work directly with trusted suppliers across Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltics to bring you the most authentic ingredients. From hand-wrapped Pelmeni to properly smoked Kolbasa, we never compromise on quality. Our team personally tastes and approves every new product before it reaches your basket. If it doesn't remind us of home, it doesn't make the cut.

    Years of Tradition

"Food is memory. Every bite should transport you to a place of warmth and belonging."

    Kalinka Today

Today, Kalinka serves thousands of customers from all over London and beyond. Our shelves stock over 2,000 products, our kitchen produces fresh items daily, and our delivery service brings the taste of home right to your door. But at our core, we're still the same family shop on Queensway — passionate about food, committed to quality, and always happy to see a familiar face.

    Quality

We never compromise on ingredients. If it wouldn't be served at a traditional grandmother's table, it won't be in our shop.

    Community

More than a store, Kalinka is a gathering place for those who share a love of Eastern European culture and cuisine.
