The Beginning
Kalinka was born from a simple yet profound longingâthe taste of home. In 1998, our founders arrived in London carrying little more than cherished family recipe books and a dream to share the authentic flavours of Eastern Europe with the local community.
What started as a small shop on Queensway quickly became the heart of the Eastern European community in West London. Customers weren't just buying foodâthey were reconnecting with memories, traditions, and a piece of their heritage.

Every product on our shelves has a story. We work directly with trusted suppliers across Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltics to bring you the most authentic ingredients. From hand-wrapped Pelmeni to properly smoked Kolbasa, we never compromise on quality. Our team personally tastes and approves every new product before it reaches your basket. If it doesn't remind us of home, it doesn't make the cut.
